WOODFORD RESERVE GRISTMILL WELCOME CENTER

LOCATION

Versailles, Kentucky

ARCHITECT

EOP Architects

PROJECT FACTS

The project included the adaptive reuse of the existing Gristmill House on Woodford Reserve’s distillery campus.  The main two-story portion of the wood framed house was saved, and selective demolition of an existing garage allowed for multiple additions.  The 5,000 sq ft, wood framed building serves as the welcome center and starting pointing for all distillery tours.  It also includes a tasting bar, lounge, basement for storage, a second floor employee break room, and expansive outdoor porches and terraces.

Partial demolition of the existing second floor required creative restructuring solutions.  Exposed wood trusses and a vaulted ceiling were utilized in the waiting room/lounge in order to create a grand, inviting environment.
