This project consisted of four floors totaling approximately 90,500 square feet. It is a steel frame structure utilizing composite steel beam construction. The foundation system consists of grade beams and drilled piers that bear on hard shale. The lateral force resisting system is a combination of reinforced concrete shear walls in one direction and concentrically braced steel frames in the other.

It is a steel frame structure utilizing composite steel beam construction. The foundation system consists of a combination of drilled piers and shallow spread footings that bear on hard limestone. The lateral force resisting system is a combination of steel moment frames in one orthogonal direction and concentrically braced frames in the other.

Total Project Cost: $35,000,000 Project Size: 205,000 square feet
This project consisted of a four-story plus mechanical penthouse addition totaling approximately 158 beds and 205,000 square feet. Architectural and special use considerations included fire-rated structural assemblies, multiple fire-walls, a sports court on the ground floor (requiring clearspan trusses and plate girders above), an indoor natatorium, a 3-story atrium with 70 feet long clearspan structure above, and rehabilitation equipment on supported floor structure.
Total Project Cost: $1,500,000 Project Size: 9,200 square feet
The structure is a one story steel frame with cold-formed steel trusses utilized to achieve the sloped roof. Because the soil conditions were very poor, the building had to be founded on drilled piers that extend to the underlying limestone bedrock. The slab on grade was also constructed to span to the supporting piers in the rear half of the building where several pieces of heavy equipment were located, including the MRI magnet.
